I want to thank God because God has been good with me since
my childhood. I knew JesusChrist when I was a child and I began to serve him
since then. I had the blessing of coming to the United States to serve the
Latino Community. Also, God gave me the blessing of being a missionary of
Global Ministries and I am serving in the Rocky Mountain Conference as the
Hispanic ministry Coordinator since July 1, 2015.
The experience of being sick and hopeless in my childhood, at
the end, it brought God's blessings for me and my family. After the miracle of
healing that God performed in my life, my family and I started attending to San
Pablo Methodist Church of Mexico in Piedras Negras Coahuila. Since then, I had
and encounter with Jesus Christ and learned to serve God. God called me to the
ministry, and after a while with some conflicts, I went to John Wesley Seminary
to prepare to serve God. I graduated in 1992 and was ordained in the Eastern
Annual Conference of the Methodist Church of Mexico in 1995. In 2004, God
brought me to the United States to serve Him on this land. Since then, I have
served him in the United Methodist Church.
After a time serving in Dallas TX, God brought me to
Nebraska where my life was completely transformed. Nebraska Annual Conference
and Bishop Ann Sherer received me as Elder in full connection in 2011 and I was
appointed to the Hispanic ministry of Lexington NE. In 2014 I got my Master of
Divinity at Iliff School of Theology in Denver Colorado. At that time, I had
the opportunity to meet wonderful people from the Rocky Mountain Conference. I
met some leaders of the Conference and the vast majority of the pastors of the
Hispanic ministry. Also, I had the opportunity to give them any trainings and I
was a teacher at the Licensing School in 2014 offered by the Rocky Mountain
Conference. In that summer I was invited to apply for the position of
Coordinator of Hispanic Ministries Rocky Mountain. In that time, they told me
that I was to be a missionary of Global Ministry to take the new position. So, a month later, I was applying to be a
missionary of Global Ministries of the United Methodist Church and I accept
that offer.
This decision to be a missionary of Global Ministries has
been one of the most important decisions in my life, because that leads me to
be part of an extraordinary ministry that share the gospel around the world in
many ways. In April 2015 I had my training to be a missionary of Global
Ministries in Nashville TN, and I was blessed to meet wonderful people. I would
like to mention all these people that I met at Nashville TN but I have the risk
to forget any of them. I had great teachers and wonderful classmates and
partners of ministry. In honor of all of them, I chose this picture. Since July
2015 I have the blessing of being the Hispanic Ministries Coordinator of the
Rocky Mountain Conference of the United Methodist Church. I thank God for all
His blessings.
With love in Christ his fellow M Cesar Duran
